Often perceived as a plant capable of emotion, Mimosa pudica has captured the world’s attention. In East Asia, the movement of its leaves, which resembles a bow, symbolizes politeness. In Japan, it is known as “ojigisō” (literally, “bowing herb”). In India, it appears in poems and stories as a symbol of humility and respect, and in the West, it has been incorporated into literature and the arts as a metaphor for sensitivity and delicacy.

Sensitivity, delicacy, and humility fully characterize the two musicians, Matthieu Donarier and David Chevallier. Although they have known each other for many years, their first collaboration as a duo is now coming to fruition, revealing an evident artistic kinship. “Sensitive” was thus born out of a shared desire to bring their musical compositions and their improvisational styles together in the service of chamber music that is interactive and fluid.
